March is a powerful graphic novel about the Civil Rights movement as told by John Lewis. This book covers John Lewis' childhood, meeting Martin Luther King Jr., and the birth of the Nashville Student Movement and their fight to end restaurant segregation by doing nonviolent sit-in protests. March is in black and white and the illustrations are skilled. This book is a hard and sad read because of the racisim but, the reason I like March is because it is a good topic to learn about and because it's part of American history.
